CCA Manufacturing Process
What is CCA Manufacturing?
CCA is the abbreviation of Circuit Card Assembly, which means circuit card assembly. In fact, CCA and the more common term - Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) express the same meaning. The CCA manufacturing process is to assemble the bare PCB without components with the corresponding components through the design file, so as to form a PCB with actual functions. We call this process CCA Manufacturing.
What is the process of CCA Manufacturing?
1.Circuit Card Design
All product manufacturing starts with design. Customers tell engineers their requirements, and engineers design schematics according to customers' requirements and mark the required components. Design files include Gerber files and BOM (Bill of Materials).
2.Purchase BOM
BOM is a list of components required for CCA Manufacturing. Purchase all components listed in the BOM according to the design requirements.
3.Bare Circuit Card Manufacturing
Convert the previous circuit card design into a bare circuit card, which is used to carry components and connect them. The manufacturing process includes the following steps:
1.Material selection: Select the appropriate material according to the design, such as FR-4, Polyimide;
2.Photoresist and photomask: Apply photoresist on the copper layer, expose and develop through the photomask;
3.Etching: Etch away the unprotected copper layer to form a conductive path;
4.Drilling: Drill holes for through-hole components and vias;
5.Electroplating: Electroplate the guide holes and through-holes to ensure electrical connection;
6.Solder mask coating and screen printing: Apply solder mask to prevent short circuits and print component position identification;
7.Test: Electrically test the bare board to ensure that there are no short circuits or open circuits;
Congratulations! After the above steps, you have obtained a high-quality bare circuit card.
4. Start CCA Manufacturing
CCA manufacturing process:
1.Prepare components: Prepare all required components according to BOM;
2.Make the template and put it into the SMT machine: Make the template according to the design and put it into the surface mount technology (SMT) machine;
3.Put the bare circuit card into the SMT machine: Put the bare circuit card on the conveyor belt of the SMT machine;
4.Apply solder paste: Apply solder paste on the pads of the circuit card through the template;
5.The high-speed placement machine starts working: The placement machine places the components on the solder paste accurately according to the design file;
6.Reflow soldering: The entire circuit card passes through the reflow oven, and the solder paste melts and fixes the components;
7.Inspection and testing: The assembled circuit card is inspected and tested using the automatic optical inspection (AOI) system and functional test equipment to ensure that there are no defects;
At this point, a complete CCA manufacturing is completed. The following provides the entire process of our CCA Manufacturing, which you can watch if you are interested.
Conclusion
CCA Manufacturing is a complex and delicate process. From design, component procurement, bare circuit card manufacturing, component assembly and final testing, each link requires strict control and testing to ensure 100% quality assurance. CCA Manufacturing is a necessary process in today's rapidly developing electronic products.
