What is PCB screen printing?
Screen printing is a traditional method that uses a stencil to apply ink to the surface of the PCB. The stencil is created using a photosensitive emulsion, and the desired pattern is transferred to the PCB by pushing the ink through the screen using a scraper.

Features of Screen Printing
1. Durable: The ink used for screen printing is thick and can be firmly attached to the PCB, so it is resistant to wear and unaffected by environmental factors.
2. Economic benefits: Screen printing is suitable for large-scale production because the cost per circuit board will decrease as the production volume increases.
3. Suitable for simple design: Suitable for PCBs with simple markings and low layout density.
4. Difficult to handle high precision: Screen printing has difficulty in handling fine details, especially on high-density PCBs with small text or symbols.
5. Time-consuming: It takes time and effort to make a stencil, and screen printing is not well suited for prototypes or small batches.
6. Environmental impact: Excess ink and screen are produced, which need to be disposed of.

What is PCB inkjet printing?
Inkjet printing is the use of an inkjet printer to apply ink directly to the surface of the PCB. The printer sprays ink in precise patterns based on the digital design file, without the use of a stencil.

Features of inkjet printing
1. Suitable for high precision: Inkjet printing has excellent precision and is suitable for high-density PCBs with small text, fine lines, and complex designs.
2. Fast setup: Because inkjet printing is digital, there is no need to prepare a stencil, making it ideal for prototypes, small batches, or designs that may require frequent modifications.
3. Environmentally friendly: The process produces minimal waste because the ink is only applied where it is needed.
4. Flexible design changes: Modifications to the design can be implemented quickly without the need for a new stencil.
5. High cost for large batches: While inkjet printing is cost-effective for small batches, it is costly for large-scale production due to its slow printing speed and high ink costs.
6. Durability: Inkjet printed marks are not as durable as screen printed marks, especially in harsh environmental conditions.
7. Special equipment: Inkjet printing requires advanced printers and special inks, which increases manufacturing costs.
